ABOUT ME
I'm a board-certified neurologist and psychiatrist with dual training in both specialties. As a neuropsychiatrist, I specialize in complex cases where neurology and mental health intersect.

My practice focuses on mental health challenges that arise in the context of conditions such as epilepsy, movement disorders, traumatic brain injury, stroke and cognitive disorders. I provide care that takes into account the unique challenges of living with neurological conditions.

My primary area of expertise is Functional Neurologic Disorder (FND), a condition where people experience real neurological symptoms—such as weakness, tremors or seizures—that are based in neurologic signaling issues rather than hardware dysfunction.

FND requires specialized neuropsychiatric care combining education, counseling, neurorehabilitation and, when appropriate, medication.
I was a founding member of the FND Society, an international organization dedicated to advancing research, education and clinical care for this condition. I directed the Stanford FND program for five years and have been invited to speak internationally on FND, including presenting grand rounds at major medical centers.

I built and directed one of the nation's few dedicated FND programs, creating a state-of-the-art, evidence-based treatment model. This work culminated in a publication in the Journal of Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences: "Treatments for Functional Neurologic Disorder: A Practical Guide for Program Development" (November 2025).
These experiences inform my current practice approach: comprehensive evaluation, evidence-based treatment and compassionate care for people navigating this challenging diagnosis.

I maintain my connection with Stanford University School of Medicine, where I trained, serving on the adjunct faculty and educating physician trainees on current concepts in neuropsychiatry, including FND.
